The Mystery of Comparison

Comparison has been cast negatively, but rather than avoiding it, we must learn to harness it, since it underpins our learning and understanding through metaphors and scale. True measurement, however, lies in selecting the correct yardstick. God’s judgment incorporates this principle, assessing us individually against a personal and divine standard, not in comparison to others, and rewards us accordingly. This encourages us to measure ourselves by what God entrusts to us in each life season.
