There are 7 Ps in Scriptures, and every single verse can fall under, at least, one of them; principles, promises, precepts, patterns, practices, prayers and prophecies. Therefore, if you want to understand any subject matter from Scriptures, read all verses pertaining to it. There is what is called the “principle of first mention”, where the very first time a concept is introduced, the original intention of God is established. That’s why the book of Genesis is very foundational to the rest of Scriptures.

It’s important to note that sometimes the word is not mentioned yet but the concept is mentioned and established first. For example, which chapter is very foundational to the understanding of marriage? Genesis 2. Yet, the word “marriage” is not even mentioned. It’s the same with the concept of altars. Altars are not mentioned until Genesis 8:20 and yet, the idea or concept of it has already been established. Otherwise, how did Abel offer a pleasing sacrifice unto God. There cannot be a sacrifice without an altar in the Old Testament.
The concept of priesthood was first mentioned in Genesis 1:28. It is easy to see the kingship aspect because God said “let them have dominion”. The priestly instruction is evident in the mandate, “fill the earth”. Adam and Eve were the first priests. Their work was to make the rest of the world like the garden in the east of Eden. The garden of Eden was “Heaven on Earth”. Do you see it? They were to make the rest of the earth like Heaven on earth. The goal was to establish on earth as it is in Heaven. This mandate is no different at all from the Great Commission. It is all about establishing the Will for God on earth as it is in Heaven.

Psalm 115:16 makes us realise that God gave the earth to human beings. We are the kings and priests of this territory. Thus, it is illegal for spirits to come into human space without human permission. For any spirit you see operating, it is collaborating with a human somewhere somehow. Humans are the only creatures that have legitimate access to both the spiritual realm and the physical realm. If you have understood up to this point, you can now see why God uses men and why the devil uses men.
Since man was naturally created to be a priest, he can take the realities of the spirit realm and overlay it in this physical reality. Remember that the ladder that Jacob saw did not have angels descending and ascending. No! The angels were rather ascending first. The altar of Abraham had given angels the legitimacy to operate on the earth and establish spiritual realities in the physical. Every altar has a priest just as every king has a throne.

The entity that rules is the entity humans have enthroned. That’s how come Jesus acknowledged satan as the god of this world. It was a legitimate position he got. The Light came but men loved the darkness rather than the Light. Adam did not just disobey God o. Adam obeyed the devil. Whoever you obey is your master. If you are no longer a slave to sin, you should not therefore obey its dictates. So we can now understand that the ladder Jacob saw can be built the other way; from earth towards hell. Such an altar will cause the realities of hell to evade the physical realm. The Will of God is that His Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We ought to understand the way of priesthood.
An altar is where a spiritual reality is trapped in a physical location such that that physical location is governed by the same laws that govern the spiritual reality. This is what happened at Azusa Street in 1906. Remember that the Holy Spirit filled the room they were in on Pentecost day. 1 Samuel 7:17 says Samuel built an altar in Ramah and even Saul and his messengers prophesied in 1 Samuel 19:18-24 when they stepped into the physical location. In simple words, an altar is an embassy. By the way, the US embassy, even on Ghanaian soil, is considered the US. I hope you know. Google it!

There are themes that run through Scriptures. Priesthood is one of them. As I had aforementioned, I am so glad that this understanding and even diction of priesthood and altars have been reignited in the Body of Christ. It got to a point where we had left priesthood totally to the kingdom of darkness and the average Christian was at the constant mercy of evil altars. Once we take our place as priests unto God, our kingship will be undeniable.
