Strategies of the Kingdom of Darkness

Might may win you a battle but it is Strategy that wins a war. Pride is such that one doesn’t admit one’s mistakes so you can be sure that the devil doesn’t admit the fact he will lose the war against the people of God. In fact, his strategies have won him some battles. Who changes a winning formula? Not even the devil. That’s why it is important to know these strategies because he will reuse them time and again to deceive the world. The enemy tried to weary my flesh and convince my mind to stop this write-up so kindly pay attention and take heed. Here are 3 kinds of strategies of the Kingdom of darkness;

The Cain Strategy

The most successful man in his day, Cain was an architect, real estate developer, founder and entrepreneur. Looking prosperous, yet cursed and banished from the presence of God. From Genesis 4:17-24, we see how his family line also became successful in the line of business. Can you believe it? The first man to build a city was cursed. This strategy has worked so successfully in our day where we worship Success. We worship God, pray fervently and contend for breakthroughs. When we get it, we wave God goodbye.

Most of what the people of God seek is what the people of the world are enjoying. So the people of God feel as though God has deprived them of success. They put their hands on the plow and look back. When God’s people begin to envy the world, you should realise it’s the Cain Strategy at work. If Prosperity becomes your ultimate goal in life, you will never realise it when God is substituted with Mammon. The world will never listen to a church that craves for what the world are already enjoying. Ask yourself; do you want to be near the Garden of Eden or you want to go to the city Cain built?

Ishmael Strategy

When the devil sees that he can’t stop you from being good, after some time he will leave you to do good. It’s not rest. He is changing strategy as he waits for a kairos moment. Abraham believed in God 25 years before he received Isaac. The devil can’t stop Abraham from believing or Isaac from coming. What does he do? Operation Ishmael Strategy! The devil wants the same source of good to become the source of evil too. James said it this way; “blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!” (James 3:10).

It is very easy to mix good with evil. One of them is trying to help God when He hasn’t asked you. It is evil to help God. “The son of the slave wife was born in a human attempt to bring about the fulfillment of God’s promise. But the son of the freeborn wife was born as God’s own fulfillment of his promise (Galatians 4:23)”. You cannot use evil for the purposes of good. You are cheating on someone so they learn a lesson? You are lying to someone so they change their attitude for the better? It’s a lie. You can’t use evil to achieve good.

Esau Strategy

Of all the hall of fame evildoers in the Bible, the Bible records only one person that the Lord Himself said he hates. Even before He was born, God foresaw Esau’s choices and declared that he hates Esau. God chose Isaac over Ishmael, but with Jacob and Esau, even his Dad Isaac preferred Esau. There are a lot of great people with a great future but they are too blind to even realise it. The Esau Strategy has been used on them. They can sell their whole birthright for a bowl of soup. They can sell their destiny for a new iPhone. They can sell their purpose for a foolish boy.

Google mess of pottage. That’s what I’m talking about. Once you are born great, they will use the Esau Strategy on you till you begin to realise who you are. Until you come to your senses like the prodigal son that you can be a Prince in your Father’s house, you will be wasting your time competing with pigs for sustenance. Everyone else sees their great potential except them. Very great, yet settles for less. They can even sell a whole Messiah for just 30 pieces of silver.

I hope you enjoyed it. Next week, I will show the “two birds, one stone” strategy and many others. By the time we are done with this series, I pray we all become more aware of the devices of the enemy so that we don’t fall prey to his cheap tricks. May the Good Lord help us all. May He deliver you from envying the city Cain is building. May he save you from birthing Ishmael while you wait for Isaac. May He keep you from belittling who He has made you so you don’t exchange your soul for the whole world. Amen 🙏
